
Scott II Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After etching his name into the Mountaineer record book, junior outfielder Victor Scott II of the West Virginia University baseball team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
Scott II stole four bases in April 16's win over No. 3 Oklahoma State, shooting him up to No. 1 in single-season program history in the category, with 30. Earlier in the week, the Powder Springs, Georgia, native finished a home run short of the cycle in a win at Penn State on April 12.
For the week, Scott II finished with two extra-base hits in four games, stole five total bases and drove in three. He ranks No. 2 nationally in stolen bases this season and leads the team with 33 RBI on the year.
WVU is set to play four road games this week, beginning on Tuesday, April 19, against rival Pitt at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.

Last Week in Rowing: The Mountaineers held their annual intersquad Gold-Blue Regatta on April 15, in Morgantown, West Virginia ... the Blue Squad won four-of-five rowing events, capturing Friday's race on the Monongahela River, 277-156, posting the winning score for the second straight year ... the first event of the day began on the Erg Deck with a 2k erg competion, from which the Blue Squad emerged with 160 points and a 50-point lead over the Gold Squad ... however, in the year-long competition, the Gold Squad leads, 3783-3597.
