
Davis Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After helping the Mountaineers to four wins last week, senior outfielder Austin Davis of the West Virginia University baseball team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
Davis went 11-for-16 (.688) at the plate last week, scoring 10 total runs in WVU's win over Marshall (17-8 on April 6) and its three-game sweep over Baylor from April 8-10. The Orlando, Florida, native had multiple-hit efforts in all four games and finished a triple short of the cycle in the series finale against BU. He also stole two bases on the week.
WVU earned its first three-game sweep over a Big 12 opponent since May 6-8, 2016, against Texas. The squad is back in action with four games this week, beginning on Tuesday, April 12, at Penn State.
The Mountaineers return home to take on No. 3 Oklahoma State, from April 15-17, at Wagener Field at Monongalia County Ballpark.
