Green Takes Second at Xavier Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University golfer Max Green shot 9-under-par to finish second at the Xavier Invitational in Maineville, Ohio.
Green, a sophomore from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, shot 68-70-69=207 on the par-72 TPC River's Bend course. He was just three shots off the lead and one of six golfers to shoot under par in the field.
Junior Oli Menard shot 70-72-74=216 (Even) and finished tied for seventh place, fifth-year senior Kurtis Grant posted rounds of 72-75-75=220 (+4) to finish tied for 18th place and freshman Westy McCabe shot 71-79-74=224 (+8) to tie for 34th place.
As a team, the Mountaineers will be back in action at the Big 12 Match Play Championship from Oct. 17-19 at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.
