MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team traveled to the Youngstown Invitational in Youngstown, Ohio, on Friday, Jan. 21, at Watson and Tressel Training Site.
Redshirt senior
Hayley Jackson earned the Mountaineers a first-place finish in the 800-meter run, in a time of 2:13.56.
Additionally, senior
Sada Wright placed third in the weight throw competition with a distance of 16.74 meters.
"The last few weeks have removed a very high percentage of the team from COVID-19 complications," coach
Sean Cleary said. "We are grateful for those that had the opportunity to compete today. We plan to have a few more back in the line next weekend at Penn State."
Next up for the Mountaineers is the PSU Sykes and Sabock in University Park, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, January 29. Events will be held at the Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.
