MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior defender Jordan Brewster and junior defender Gabrielle Robinson of the West Virginia University women's soccer team earned a pair of weekly awards, while the Mountaineers rank No. 15 in this week's United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Top 25 National Poll.
 
Robinson was tabbed the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday, while Brewster earned recognition on TopDrawerSoccer's National Team of the Week.
 
"I'm so happy for both Jordan and Gabby, who have been working hard to get these shutouts and make sure the back line is working hard and working together," WVU coach Nikki Izzo-Brown said. "This is so exciting for two of our upperclassmen to be getting the recognition they deserve."
 
Robinson earns her second career Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week nod, while Brewster was featured on the TDS Team of the Week list for first time this season. Mainstays of West Virginia's defensive back line, the duo helped the Mountaineers record a pair of shutouts against then-No. 24 Georgetown and Saint Francis (Pa.) last week. The pair held the Hoyas to just five shots and two shots on goal, before preventing SFU from recording a single shot.
 
Robinson, a Springfield, Virginia, native, played all 110 minutes of WVU's 0-0, double overtime draw with Georgetown, as well as recording 67 minutes of action against Saint Francis (Pa.). A native of North Canton, Ohio, Brewster played all 200 minutes of total game action last week, and she also added an assist on junior forward/defender Julianne Vallerand's game-winning goal against the Red Flash.
 
Additionally, West Virginia's No. 15 ranking in this week's edition of the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 marks the Mountaineers' 25th consecutive week in the national poll, dating back to the 2020-21 campaign.
 
Florida State (7-0) and North Carolina (8-0) remain in the top two spots, respectively, once again this week. UCLA (6-0) moves up one spot to No. 3, and Duke (8-0) moves into the fourth spot this week. Big 12 foe TCU (8-0) makes its debut in the top five, as it comes in at No. 5 after sitting at No. 6 for the first four weeks.
 
Next up, the Mountaineers travel to Harrisonburg, Virginia, for just their second road contest of the season, as they take on James Madison on Thursday, Sept. 16. Kickoff against the Dukes is tabbed for 7 p.m. ET, at Sentara Park.
