MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team for the seventh consecutive year, announced by the ITA on Wednesday.
In addition to the team's accolade, four members were tabbed as an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the 2020 season. Juniors Giovanna Caputo (sport and exercise psychology) and Anne-Sophie Courteau (biology), as well as sophomores Anastasiia Bovolskaia (international studies) and Nicole Roc (finance) were recognized by the ITA for their outstanding work in the classroom.
This marks the third ITA Scholar-Athlete selection for Caputo, while Roc earned her second honor in as many years.
To be named a scholar-athlete by the ITA, a student-athlete must meet a set of academic and athletic standards that consist of: being named a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and must be enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
