Katz Ranks WVU's Jones Among College Hoops' Top Rebounders
June 19, 2020 08:56 AM | Men's Basketball, Blog
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – One of the best rebounders in college basketball over the last decade is Kevin Jones?
Big Ten Network college basketball analyst and NCAA college basketball correspondent Andy Katz believes so.
Katz listed K.J. ninth on his list of top 10 rebounders of the last decade, as heard on the MM365 pod and tweeted yesterday.
Jones averaged 10.9 rebounds per game during his senior season for West Virginia in 2012 and hauled down 1,048 rebounds in 139 career games for the Mountaineers.
His single-game high was 18 boards pulled down in a game against Kent State early in his senior season.
Jones was an All-Big East first team choice as a senior in 2012 after averaging 19.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. He had a strong case for Big East Player of the Year but the award went to Marquette's Jae Crowder that season.
Jones will be competing in this year's $1 million TBT with Best Virginia, a team comprised of former Mountaineer players.
The tournament begins in early July in Columbus, Ohio.
