MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's basketball team concludes its two-game homestand on Monday, Feb. 24, as the Mountaineers prepare to host No. 2-ranked Baylor at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown.
"(They're a) great team. I mean, I think they're better this year than they were last year," WVU coach
Mike Carey said. "I honestly do, and they won the national championship last year. I think they're deeper, they're a better shooting team, they're quicker and they're more athletic. They're a complete team."
Opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at the WVU Coliseum. Monday's game will be broadcast on FS1, with Ron Thulin and Brenda VanLengen on the call.

Monday's contest against Baylor is Dollar Day, with tickets and select concessions priced at $1. Additionally, the first 400 fans will receive a Flying WV bow tie.
The Mountaineers (16-9, 6-8 Big 12) and the Lady Bears (25-1, 14-0 Big 12) meet for the 20th time in the series and the second time this season on Monday. Baylor won the first meeting the season, defeating the Mountaineers, 91-51, on Jan. 18 at the Ferrell Center, in Waco, Texas. BU leads the all-time series, 16-3. West Virginia last defeated Baylor, 77-66, on March 6, 2017, in the 2017 Big 12 Tournament Championship game at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Mountaineers have defeated two Lady Bears teams ranked in the top 10 all-time (March 6, 2017; No. 2, and March 2, 2014; No. 6). Baylor has won all seven contests between the two teams at the WVU Coliseum.
West Virginia is coming off a 60-53 win against Kansas on Feb. 22, at the WVU Coliseum, in Morgantown. Redshirt senior guard
Tynice Martin led all scorers with 19 points against KU and surpassed 4,000 career minutes in the contest. Sophomore forward
Kari Niblack also scored in double figures, adding 14 points to extend her double-figure scoring streak to six games. Sophomore guard
Madisen Smith also posted 10 or more points against the Jayhawks, collecting 12 on the night.
Baylor is coming off a 101-69 win against Oklahoma at the Ferrell Center in Waco. Nalyssa Smith led the Lady Bears in scoring against the Sooners, finishing with 22 points. Smith was one of five players for BU to finish with 10 or more points against Oklahoma. Lauren Cox tallied a double-double in the win over OU (15 points, 11 rebounds). With the win, Baylor extended its Big 12 regular-season win streak to a Conference and school-record 54 games. BU's 54-game streak also ranks as the seventh-best conference win streak in NCAA history. Baylor's only loss of the season came against now-No. 1 South Carolina, 74-59, on Nov. 30.
