Eddy to Compete at ISSF World Cup

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore Jared Eddy of the West Virginia University rifle team will compete for Team USA at the 2019 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from Aug. 28-29.
A native of Columbus, Georgia, Eddy will compete in the men's 50m air rifle 3 positions competition on Wednesday in the elimination stage, with the qualification and final stage taking place on Thursday.
Eddy most recently won the junior men's 50m rifle 3 positions title on June 23 at the 2019 USA Shooting National Championships for Rifle and Pistol at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit in Fort Benning, Georgia. Eddy finished the two-day competition with a winning 2336 total, shooting 1166 and 1163.
The ISSF World Cup is one of the qualification opportunities to win quota places for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
