Jared Eddy of the West Virginia University rifle team earned a pair of top-four finishes at the 2019 National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships (NJOSC) this week at the Olympic Shooting Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
A native of Columbus, Georgia, Eddy landed on the podium today, finishing second in the men's 10m air rifle competition with a two-day score of 1243.3. Eddy shot relay marks of 622.2 on Wednesday and 617.1 today, giving him a second-place match score of 1239.3. He won the discipline final this afternoon, shooting 247.2 and earning four additional points for his final total of 1243.3.
Eddy's second-place finish earns him an appointment to the United States National Junior Team and a berth to the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Cup.
On April 9, Eddy finished fourth in the men's 50m three-position rifle competition with a two-day score of 2315. He shot 1157 on Monday and 1154 on Tuesday for a match score of 2311. Eddy shot 416.2 in the final for a fifth-place finish, earning four additional points and moving his score to 2315.
