Big 12 Home Slate Begins This Weekend

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team (8-5, 0-3 Big 12) returns to Morgantown to host Oklahoma and Oklahoma State for a pair of Big 12 matches at the Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown, from March 22-24.
Friday's contest against Oklahoma will begin at 5 p.m. ET. Fans can follow action against the Sooners on StatBroadcast.
Sunday's match against Oklahoma State is scheduled for 10 a.m. Fans can also follow the contest via StatBroadcast.
"It's good to be back home for a round of matches against Big 12 competition," said coach Miha Lisac. "We have a good weekend ahead of us, and we're looking to bounce back from last weekend's matches."
West Virginia is looking to rebound after a tough weekend on the road. WVU fell to then-No. 25 Texas Tech, 6-1, and TCU, 4-0, last week. Freshman Nicole Roc, senior Abigail Rosiello and sophomore Anne-Sophie Courteau each gathered a win on the weekend.
The Mountaineers are seeking to win their first match against the Sooners on Friday. Last season, WVU was defeated by then-No. 50 Oklahoma, 4-2, on the road.
Oklahoma enters Friday's matchup with an 11-4 record, including a 1-1 record in Big 12 play, and has won five of its last six matches. The Sooners come into the weekend ranked No. 30 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)/Oracle team rankings. Oklahoma's roster includes two ITA/Oracle top-20 singles players and one doubles pair ranked in the ITA/Oracle top 80.
West Virginia also is seeking its first win against the Cowgirls. In last year's regular-season contest, then-No. 19 Oklahoma State bested the Mountaineers, 4-1, in Stillwater.
Oklahoma State (11-5, 2-0 Big 12) is coming off a pair of 6-1 victories over Kansas State and Kansas. The Cowgirls are scheduled to square off with Iowa State prior to Sunday's contest. OSU enters the weekend ranked No. 8 in the latest ITA/Oracle team rankings. Oklahoma State's roster includes three singles players ranked in the ITA/Oracle top 120 and three doubles pairs ranked in the ITA/Oracle top 70.
