Excitement Grows for NCAA Championships
February 28, 2019 05:00 PM | Rifle
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The 2019 NCAA Rifle Championships at the WVU Coliseum is just one week away!
The first-ever NCAA Championships held in Morgantown, Mountaineer fans are excited to cheer for the 19-time National Champion WVU rifle team inside the historic WVU Coliseum March 8-9, as evidenced by the more than 500 tickets already purchased.
To help their fellow student-athletes and WVU coaches and administrators prepare for the championships, the team held an "Experience Mountaineer Rifle" event on Feb. 15 at the Bill McKenzie Rifle Range inside the WVU Shell Building. All in attendance were taught proper shooting technique. Naturally, a healthy competition broke out, with Marcus Simms (football) and Denys Kostromin (men's swimming and diving) shooting perfect scores of 50.
Tickets for the 2019 NCAA Rifle Championships are on sale now at NCAA.com/tickets.
