MOREHEAD, Ky. – For the second straight week, the West Virginia University rifle team is ranked No. 1 in the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.
This week's rankings are based on the team's last score shot.
TCU ranks No. 2 this week and is followed by Air Force at 3, Kentucky at No. 4 and Ole Miss at No. 5.
Army ranks No. 6, Navy ranks No. 7 and Alaska ranks No. 8. Memphis and Ohio State round out the top 10.
WVU opened its 2019-20 season with a 4719-4642 win at Nebraska on Saturday. The Mountaineers swept the Huskers in both disciplines, winning smallbore, 2343-2291, and air rifle, 2376-2351.
Looking ahead, WVU will open its home season with a match against TCU, the 2019 NCAA National Champion, on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m., inside the WVU Rifle Range, in Morgantown.
