MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team opens the spring season ranked No. 2 in the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Rankings.
This week's rankings are based on NCAA Team Selection Rankings, which are comprised of a squad's top-three scores earned at three different venues. The Mountaineers (10-0, 5-0 GARC) claim an average of 4709.33.
TCU (4713) ranks No. 1, while Kentucky (4703.33) sits at No. 3. Air Force (4698.33) and Murray State (4698.33) are tied at No. 4.
Alaska-Fairbanks (4669) sits at No. 6 and is followed by Navy (4668) at No. 7. Memphis (4667.33), Nebraska (4665.67) and Jacksonville State (4662.67) round out the top 10.
The Mountaineers return to competition following a two-month break and play host to Mississippi, at the WVU Shell Building, on Sunday, Jan. 20. The first relay is set to begin at 10 a.m.
