Big 12 Unveils 2018-19 Women’s Basketball Slate

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Big 12 Conference released the 2018-19 league schedule on Tuesday, completing the season slate for the West Virginia women's basketball team.
The Mountaineers, who previously announced their 11-game nonconference schedule, will start league play on the road and finish at home before heading to the Philips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
WVU heads to Fort Worth, Texas, on Wednesday, Jan. 2, to being league play at TCU. The team returns to Morgantown for a two-game homestand starting with Texas at the WVU Coliseum on Sunday, Jan. 3. The Oklahoma State Cowgirls come to town on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
The Mountaineers travel to Norman, Oklahoma, on Sunday, Jan. 13, for a showdown with the Oklahoma Sooners. They'll return home on Wednesday, Jan. 16, to host Iowa State before trekking to Waco, Texas, on Jan. 20 for a Sunday tilt at Baylor.
Another two-game homestand is up next for WVU, as the team welcomes Texas Tech to the Coliseum on Wednesday, Jan. 23, before hosting K-State on Saturday, Jan. 26. A rematch with the Longhorns will take place on Monday, Jan. 28, in Austin, Texas, before the Mountaineers take on Kansas for the first time on Sunday, Feb. 3, at the WVU Coliseum.
The Mountaineers follow that tilt with a pair of road games, starting with a rematch at Iowa State on Saturday, Feb. 9, in Ames, Iowa. They'll continue on to Lubbock, Texas, for a Wednesday contest at Texas Tech on Feb. 13 before returning to Morgantown to host TCU on Saturday, Feb. 16.
WVU will take on both Oklahoma teams the following week, traveling to Stillwater to square off with the Cowgirls on Wednesday, Feb. 20, before taking on the Sooners Morgantown on Saturday, Feb. 23. The Mountaineers cap off their road slate with a trip to Kansas, first stopping in Manhattan on Wednesday, Feb. 27, to take on the Wildcats before continuing to Lawrence for a Saturday tilt with the Jayhawks on March 2.
The Mountaineers return home to cap the regular season on Monday, March 4, when they host Baylor before heading to the 2019 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, which runs from March 8-11 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
