WVU Begins Fall Play in Blacksburg

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's tennis team begins its fall season on the road in Blacksburg, Virginia, for the Hokie Fall Invite from Sept. 28-30.
"It is good to start the fall season at tournaments like the Hokie Fall Invite," said sixth-year head coach Miha Lisac. "We are looking forward to the weekend of competition, getting better and continuing to work on our games"
Eight teams will compete in the Hokie Fall Invite, including host Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, Bluefield State, Delaware, Georgia Southern, Iowa State, James Madison, Liberty, Marshall, Penn State, Radford, VCU and West Virginia. All matches will take place at Virginia Tech's Burrow-Burleson Tennis Center.
The Mountaineers are scheduled to open play at 9 a.m. each day. West Virginia will compete in various singles and doubles flights throughout the three-day tournament
Friday's action will consist of two rounds of doubles play and one round of singles play. Saturday will include one round of doubles and two rounds of singles. On Sunday, the final round of doubles and singles will take place.
DOUBLES OUTLOOK
WVU's weekend will begin Friday morning in doubles play, when senior Paula Goetz and freshman Anastasiia Bovolskaia take on Drousile Dzeubou and Malin Falk of Radford. West Virginia will round out Friday's doubles action, as two Mountaineer duos compete against Delaware.

Jordan/Caputo (WVU) vs. Gotkiewicz/Whited (UD) 9 a.m.
Courteau/Rosiello (WVU) vs. Sabotic/Laas (UD) 9 a.m.
SINGLES OUTLOOK
Friday's singles action will feature six Mountaineers competing against Appalachian State, Radford, Liberty and host Virginia Tech. Goetz will kick off singles play, when she takes on Appalachian State's Jeannez Daniel at 9 a.m.
