Four Competing at National Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Four from the West Virginia University rifle team are currently competing at the USA Shooting National Championships for Rifle and Pistol, which is being held now through June 16 at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit in Fort Benning, Georgia.
National titles will be awarded throughout the week, and athletes are competing for potential roster positions for the National/National Junior Teams.
All four Mountaineers opened competition today. On the women's side, rising senior Ginny Thrasher, junior Morgan Phillips and sophomore Sarah Osborn are competing in the 10m air rifle, while senior Will Anti competes in the men's 50 rifle 3 positions. Finals for both events will take place on Tuesday, June 12.
The Mountaineers will return to competition on Friday, June 15, with the women shooting in the 50m rifle 3 positions and the men competing in the 10m air rifle. Finals for both events will follow on June 16.
