MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –
West Virginia University gymnastics coach
Jason Butts announced today that Taylor Sell and Kristin Lang will compete at WVU next fall.
"Taylor and Kristin's talent level will help us immediately. We'll look for them to contribute across the board right away," Butts said. "They were highly recruited athletes, and we're excited to welcome them to the Mountaineer family. We expect them to bring a lot to the WVU gymnastics program. We have big plans for Taylor and Kristin, and we can't wait for them to join the team this fall."
A native of Pittsford, New York, Lang is a four-year, level 10 gymnast out of RGA. A three-time Junior Olympic National Championships qualifier, she finished fifth on balance beam at the 2016 JO National Championships. That same season, she also placed 15th on floor and 17th in the all-around.
"Kristin has a beautiful style and will add to our program's look," Butts said. "She also is a very driven student-athlete. I think West Virginia is a great fit for her gymnastics, and I believe Kristin gives our team a boost as we continue to strive toward the national stage."
In 2016, Lang captured two floor titles, winning the event at the Level 10 Region 6 Championships and the New York State Championships. One year earlier, she finished first on beam, floor and the all-around at the 2015 Level 10 Region 6 Championships. At the New York State Championships, she placed first in the all-around and on bars, second on beam and third on vault and floor. In 2014, Lang won beam and placed third on vault and in the all-around at the level 10 Region 6 Championships and also won floor and finished third in the all-around at the New York State Championships.

The daughter of Dan and Sue Lang, she currently attends Pittsford Sutherland High.
A native of Manheim, Pennsylvania, Sell is a four-year, level 10 gymnast from Prestige Gymnastics. A Junior Olympic National Championships qualifier, she most recently finished eighth on balance beam at the 2018 Region 7 Level 10 Championships. She also finished third on the event and ninth on floor at the 2018 Pennsylvania State Championships.
"Taylor owns every skill in the book on balance beam," Butts said. "She is a great all-around competitor, and we could see her in multiple lineups right away. Taylor brings a lot of personality with her; she's a hard-working gymnast and reminds me a lot of current Mountaineer
Abby Kaufman."
In 2017, Sell finished 10th on uneven bars and beam at the Pennsylvania State Championships. One year prior, she placed fifth on beam at the 2016 Region 7 Level 10 Championships. Sell finished sixth on floor and fifth on beam at the 2015 Region 7 Level 10 Championships following a third-place finish on beam and a fifth-place finish on floor at the Pennsylvania State Championships.
