MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –
The West Virginia University tennis team returns to Morgantown after a three-match road swing, as the squad faces Duquesne on Friday, March 23, and Iowa State on Saturday, March 24. Both matches will take place at the Summit Tennis Academy.
Friday's match against Duquesne is slated to begin at 1 p.m. ET. The match marks the 29th meeting between the two schools, with the Mountaineers holding a 25-3 advantage over the Dukes in a series that began in 1978. The two teams last met in 2012, with the Dukes picking up a 5-2 win. Duquesne enters the match with an 11-2 record after sweeping Saint Joseph's, 7-0, in Pittsburgh on March 16. "First and foremost, we are focused on Duquesne on Friday," fifth-year coach
Miha Lisac said. "We have seen them in the past, and we know that they are a team that will come in and battle hard. We will definitely need to be ready to play and take care of the match on Friday first."
Free pizza and WVU Tennis posters will be available to all fans attending the match on Friday. Fans also are encouraged to stay after the match for an autograph signing with the team.
On Saturday, WVU will take on Iowa State in its Big 12 home opener. First serve is set for 10 a.m. The first 25 fans to attend the match will be given a free WVU tennis visor, while all fans will be able to get free pizza and WVU tennis posters. Fans can follow the action from home at

Iowa State enters the weekend with an 8-9 record after dropping a pair of matches last weekend to No. 19 Oklahoma State, 4-1, and No. 50 Oklahoma, 4-0.
"Looking at Saturday, we have faced Iowa State every year so far and they can be a tough challenge," Lisac said. "We are getting ready and preparing to be at our best for the weekend, which is what we will have to do to be able to be successful on Friday and Saturday."

Sofia Duran and
Christina Jordan, tie for the team lead with five wins apiece.
