After qualifying in 12th place during Saturday's 200 butterfly preliminary session, Bullock earned a spot in the event's consolation final. The Zeeland, Michigan, native touched the wall in 1:54.77 in her second swim, claiming seventh place in the heat and 15th place overall. With her performance, Bullock earned honorable mention All-America honors for the first time in her career.
"Morgan swam a great race tonight," WVU coach Vic Riggs said. "She improved her time from this morning and earned honorable mention All-America with her 15th place."
Harris opened the day in the 200 breaststroke prelims, where she touched the wall in 2:10.32 for 27th place. The Canberra, Australia, native, who finished second in her heat, improved 10 spots from her initial seed time.
Then, Bullock registered a 1:55.03 in the 200 butterfly prelims, fast enough to push her into the evening session.
"It was a very strong morning for the ladies," Riggs said. "Emma swam right at her best time and finished 27th. Morgan swam her second-fastest 200 fly, which placed her into the finals."
Bullock's national-meet debut also included a 40th-place finish (1:58.44) in the 200 individual medley on Thursday, as well as a 44th-place finish in Friday's 100 butterfly (53.53). For Harris, she added to her 45th-place showing (1:01.62) in the 100 breaststroke from Friday.
The two Mountaineers were WVU's first women to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Rachael Burnett and Mandie Nugent in 2013. Additionally, Bullock became the 12th woman to earn All-America honors in program history.
"Emma and Morgan did a great job representing WVU and our program this week," Riggs said. "To come to NCAAs for the first time and swim as well as they did is a hard thing to do. They did a great job all week, and I'm proud of what they've done."
Next up, a trio of Mountaineers travel to the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, from March 21-24, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Junior Jake Armstrong, redshirt junior Tristen Di Sibio and freshman David Dixon are set to compete at the four-day meet.
