MORGANTOWN, W.Va.  – Three members of the West Virginia University women's basketball team were honored by the Big 12 Conference for their play during the 2017-18 season, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
 
Senior forward Teana Muldrow was voted to the 2018 All-Big 12 First Team, while junior guard/forward Naomi Davenport garnered All-Big 12 Second Team honors. Senior guard Chania Ray earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.
 
"I'm incredibly proud of Teana, Naomi and Chania for their effort this season," WVU coach Mike Carey said. "Teana is a fifth-year player who is a leader for us, on and off the court. Naomi came in as a junior college transfer and immediately made an impact and fit our system. As for Chania, she has given everything to this team and played through injuries. She has been one of our leaders. They're very deserving of these recognitions."
 
Muldrow, a fifth-year senior from East Orange, New Jersey, ranks amongst the Big 12's best in scoring, rebounding and minutes played. She's averaged 19.6 points per game 8.9 rebounds per game to lead the Mountaineers this season, with 16 20-point games on the year and 13 double-doubles. Muldrow will cap her WVU career ranked in the program's top 10 in career scoring, rebounding, field goals made, 3-pointers made, blocks, double-doubles and games played. She was named a Big 12 Co-Player of the Week earlier this season and is currently one of five finalists for the 2018 Cheryl Miller Award for the nation's best small forward.
 
A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Ray ranks third in the Big 12 with 5.3 assists per game. She helped WVU lead the league in steals throughout the regular season, averaging 2.3 steals per contest. Ray recently moved into all-time top 10 at WVU with 422 career assists. Her career-high 12 assists against Oklahoma are the second-most in a game by a Big 12 player this season. Additionally, she has averaged 10.4 points per game, registering a pair of double-doubles on the season.
 
After joining the Mountaineers out of Trinity Valley Community College, Davenport ranked second on the team and seventh in the Big 12 with 16.6 points per game. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native dropped 32 points in her Big 12 debut – the first Big 12 player to do so since 2001. Davenport leads the team in steals with 2.4 per game, ranking third in the league, and is also third with a 3-point field goal percentage of .406.
 
West Virginia enters the 2018 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as the No. 6 seed. The Mountaineers will face No. 3 seed Oklahoma State on Saturday in a 9:30 EST tip at Chesapeake Energy Arena, with the game set to air AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh.
