MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The promotional schedule for the 2018-19 West Virginia University women's basketball home schedule were announced by the WVU Athletics Marketing Department on Thursday.
The schedule features several t-shirt giveaways and games with discounted or free admission. Tickets can be obtained in advance by visiting WVUGAME.com, calling 1-800-WVU-GAME or by visiting the Mountaineer Ticket Office, located at the Gold Gate of the WVU Coliseum.
Sunday's tilt with NJIT will honor Veterans Day with a mini American flag giveaway. Active and retired military members receive free admission by showing valid military ID.
As previously announced, the Bryant game on Thursday, Nov. 15, will serve as Education Day. Local elementary and middle schools will be in attendance for the 10 a.m. tipoff. Admission is free for all fans.
The Mountaineers will host Missouri as part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Sunday, Dec. 2. The WVU will host "Be Like Mike" night, as fans who dress in coach
Mike Carey's uniform of blue track pants and a white polo will receive a voucher for his favorite snack – Coca-Cola and a hot dog - at the concession stands. Fans will receive t-shirts with coach Carey's favorite saying, "Physical for 40," while supplies last. Additionally, West Virginia will host a toy drive and Mountaineer Kids Club event with Mr. Twister in attendance.
On Tuesday, Dec. 18, the Mountaineers will welcome Morgan State. Prior to the 7 p.m. tip, there will be a paint n' sip on the Coliseum concourse.
Prior to the holiday break, WVU will host Towson on Thursday, Dec. 20, for Christmas in the Coliseum. Fans in attendance can receive a free ugly Christmas sweater t-shirt while supplies last. Santa will be on the concourse for photo opportunities, and there will also be a holiday crafts station prior to the game.
The Mountaineers will close out 2018 on Saturday, Dec. 29, against Niagara with a New Year's party. Fans in attendance will receive 2019 light up glasses while supplies last and are invited to attend a pregame yoga session on the court.
Big 12 play comes to the Coliseum starting on Sunday, Jan. 6, when WVU hosts Texas on ESPN2 in a 4 p.m. Gold Rush game. The WVU dance team will host a pregame dance clinic as well. This is the first family day of the season, with a package of four tickets and a $15 concession voucher for $25.
The Oklahoma State game on Wednesday, Jan. 9, will be the first Dollar Night of the season with tickets available for $1. It will also be a trivia night, with a chance to win various prizes.
The Jan. 16 matchup with Iowa State will be the second "Be Like Mike" night of the season. The Mountaineer Maniacs will host a t-shirt giveaway for students in attendance, and all fans are invited to participate in basketball bingo throughout the game.
Daddy/Daughter Night will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 23, against Texas Tech. Tickets will buy one, get one free, and duos will receive a concession voucher at the door. It will also be Faculty/Staff Night, with all WVU employees receiving free admission with a valid WVU ID.
Character Day will be on Saturday, Jan. 26, against K-State. The WVU color guard will host a pregame clinic for twirlers and Mr. Twister will also be in attendance. This game is also another Family Day, with four tickets and a $15 concession voucher package available for just $25.
The Mountaineers will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Sunday, Feb. 3, against Kansas. Various WVU athletic teams will host pregame clinics in the Coliseum and the Basketball Practice Facility. Local youth cheer and basketball teams will also be in attendance.
WVU's annual Play4Kay Day will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16, against TCU. The Mountaineers will don pink accented jerseys, as well as pink headbands, socks and shoes to promote breast cancer awareness. Admission to the game will be free, courtesy of WVU Medicine, and pink shakers will be given away while supplies last.
West Virginia will host its second "I Belong" Day on Saturday, Feb. 23, partnering with the WVU Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Local organizations and student groups are encouraged to join a pregame fair in the concourse.
The Mountaineers will cap the regular season and host Senior Night on Monday, March 4, against Baylor on FS1. It's Dollar Night, with tickets available for just $1.
