MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 1-ranked West Virginia University rifle team concludes its 2018-19 fall season against NC State on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m., at the Bill McKenzie Rifle Range inside the WVU Shell Building.
 
Admission is free and open to the public. At the end of competition, anticipated to be at 2 p.m., the Mountaineers will hold a meet-and-greet with fans.
 
The Mountaineers (9-0, 4-0 GARC) enter the final weekend of fall competition with a 4704 team average, the best mark in the nation.
 
"Nothing has changed between matches this semester – we just want to have the best performance we can," Mountaineer coach Jon Hammond said. "There were a lot of positives from our last road trip. The big thing is for us to give one last good effort before we finish up the semester.
 
"Our Bill McKenzie Rifle Range has made a huge difference for this team this year, and we're excited to end the semester with a meet-and-greet. This range has improved our team's match-day experience, too. We've enjoyed the atmosphere surrounding our home matches, and we're happy to give our team back to our fans tomorrow."
 
WVU is 19-0 all-time against the Wolfpack (3-3, 2-3 GARC). In their last regular-season meeting, the Mountaineers opened the 2017-18 season with a 4703-4630 win over NCSU at The Citadel on Sept. 23, 2017.
 
Junior Morgan Phillips paces WVU and ranks No. 2 nationally with a 587.2 smallbore average. Senior Ginny Thrasher follows and ranks No. 3 nationally with a 585.714 average.
 
Junior Milica Babic ranks No. 1 on the team, No. 4 nationally, with a 595.857 air rifle season average. Thrasher follows and ranks No. 6 nationally with a 594.286.
 
Last week, the Wolfpack went 1-1 in Lexington, Kentucky, falling to No. 4 Kentucky, 4690-4639, on Nov. 9, and defeating No. 11 Army, 4649-4634.
