Mountaineers Move to No. 3

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team drops one position to No. 3 in this week's College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Rankings.
This week's rankings are based on each team's last score earned. The Mountaineers (2-0, 2-0 GARC) shot 4711 in a win over Memphis (4639) on Oct. 14 at the Bill McKenzie Rifle Range inside the WVU Shell Building.
Kentucky ranks No. 1 (4718), and Air Force ranks No. 2 (4714). TCU sits behind WVU at No. 4 (4703), and Alaska-Fairbanks ranks No. 5 (4693).
Murray State ranks No. 6 (4685) and is followed by Navy at No. 7 (4676). NC State ranks No. 8 (4664), and Nebraska checks-in at No. 9 (4662). Akron, Morehead State and Ohio State are tied at No. 10 (4659).
The Mountaineers stay in Morgantown this weekend and play host to four teams at the Bill McKenzie Rifle Range inside the WVU Coliseum. WVU competes against No. 6 Murray State and No. 10 Ohio State on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. On Sunday, the Mountaineers will face No. 2 Air Force and No. 9 Nebraska at 9 a.m.
