MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team ranks No. 1 in the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Rankings.

This week's rankings are based on NCAA Team Selection Rankings, which are comprised of a squad's top three scores earned at three different venues. The Mountaineers (12-0, 8-0 GARC) claim the nation's best average of 4737.

TCU ranks No. 2 with a 4726.67 average, and Kentucky follows at No. 3 with a 4713.33 average. Murray State (4712.67 avg.) and Alaska-Fairbanks (4704.67 avg.) rank No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

Ohio State (4696.33 avg.) sits at No. 6 and is followed by Nevada (4677.67 avg.) at No. 7 and Mississippi (4675 avg.) at No. 8. Air Force (4674.67 avg.) and Nebraska (4673.67 avg.) round out the top 10.

The Mountaineers complete their regular-season slate and shoot for their fifth straight and conference-best 11th Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) regular-season title against No. 3 Kentucky on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m., at the Bill McKenzie Rifle Range at the indoor track inside the WVU Shell Building.Â
