
Bullock, Dixon Honored

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University swimmers Morgan Bullock and David Dixon have been named the Big 12 Swimmers-of-the-Week by CollegeSwimming.com, following pool-record performances against Pitt in the Backyard Brawl on Jan. 18.
The awards are the fifth and sixth for the Mountaineers by CollegeSwimming.com this season. Bullock was also recognized on Oct. 31, while Dixon is honored for the first time in his career.
Bullock set a WVU Natatorium record, won two events and placed second twice on Thursday against the Panthers. The sophomore from Zeeland, Michigan, set a pool record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.47. Bullock also won the 100 butterfly, touching the wall in 55.67. She added a second-place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:03.53) and as part of the 200 medley relay team (1:44.93).
Dixon broke two pool records and won three events to help the Mountaineers to a victory over Pitt. He set a WVU Natatorium record in the 200 butterfly, touching the wall in 1:45.80. Dixon also helped the 200 medley relay to a pool-record time of 1:29.94. A freshman from Richmond, Virginia, Dixon added an individual win in the 100 butterfly, thanks to a time of 48.66. Dixon also placed second in the 200 individual medley (1:49.13).
Bullock, Dixon and the Mountaineers return to action on Saturday, Jan. 27. The men's and women's teams will face Villanova, while the women also will take on Big 12 foe Iowa State. The Senior Day meet commences with diving at 10 a.m. ET and swimming events at 11 a.m. at the WVU Natatorium.
