MORGANTOWN, W.Va.
– The West Virginia University women's basketball team will have five games air on FOX Sports Networks as part of the Big 12 Conference's 2017-18 television schedule, which was announced on Friday. Three of the contests will be televised nationally, and three games will originate from the WVU Coliseum.
The Mountaineers will cap 2017 with a televised matchup, as their tilt with Texas on Thursday, Dec. 31, in Austin will be featured throughout the state of West Virginia and the Pittsburgh region on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh at 4:30 p.m. ET. West Virginia will later host TCU on Saturday, Jan. 13, in a 5 p.m. tipoff on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown. Fans outside of the region also will be able to watch these games on their local FOX Sports Net affiliates.
The Big 12 Championship game rematch between WVU and Baylor will be featured on FS1 on Sunday, Jan. 28. The Mountaineers and the Bears will square off at the WVU Coliseum in a 3 p.m. ET tipoff.
WVU will host the Longhorns on Monday, Feb. 5, on FS1 in a 7 p.m. ET matchup at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown. The second meeting between the Mountaineers and the Bears will also be televised, as WVU closes the regular season in Waco on Monday, Feb. 26, in a 9 p.m. tipoff on FS1.
The Big 12 will make 28 appearances on FOX Sports networks during the 2017-18 season. Nineteen regular season games and all nine Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship matchups are included in the package. Twelve games will be televised nationally on FS1, 14 are scheduled on FOX Sports Regional Networks (FSN) and two will be aired on FOX College Sports (FCS).
The entire postseason championship will be televised for the fifth consecutive year beginning with the two first round contests on FCS. Quarterfinal games will air on FOX Sports Regional Networks for the 17th consecutive year while the semifinals and final will make their fifth national appearance on FS1. The final three games have appeared on a FOX Sports network every year since the inception of the Conference in 1996-97.
Two non-conference games will be included in the package while all other appearances showcase Big 12 matchups. The schedule tips off on Sunday, December 3 when Stanford plays at Baylor on FS1. The other non-conference tilt includes a Florida State visit to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns on Sunday, December 17, on FS1.
The conference schedule opens up on New Year's Eve and will conclude with a game on February 27, the final day of the regular season.
