MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University fans are invited to attend a celebration for the 2017 national-champion rifle team on Monday, March 13, from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., inside the WVU Coliseum Gold Gate Entrance.
The Mountaineers (12-0, 8-0 GARC) and coach Jon Hammond will be available to greet fans and take pictures. Fans also will have the opportunity to take pictures with the team’s nation-best 19th NCAA Championships trophy.
WVU shot a championship-record 4723 score and won its fifth straight NCAA title on Saturday at The Ohio State University’s French Field House in Columbus, Ohio. The win is the team’s sixth in 11 years under coach Hammond. Freshman Morgan Phillips won the individual smallbore title on March 10, and classmate Milica Babic won the air rifle title on March 11.
