Mountaineers Move to No. 11 in USA Today Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's basketball team moved up one spot to No. 11 in the most recent USA Today Sports Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday.
The Mountaineers (7-0) recently entered the top 10 of the AP Top 25 Poll, coming in at No. 10 in the most recent rankings released on Monday. The team previously ranked at No. 11 in the AP Poll and at No. 12 in the USA Today Poll.
WVU earned 466 points and is one of three Big 12 teams to appear in the rankings. Texas continues to rank at No. 4 with 703 points while Baylor sits at No. 8 with 580 points. Additionally, Oklahoma State received votes in this week's rankings.
West Virginia continued its impressive nonconference play, defeating then-No. 18/21 Texas A&M by a score of 70-56 at Reed Arena in College Station, Texas, as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge. Senior forward Teana Muldrow led the way with 24 points, while senior forward Kristina King notched her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
The Mountaineers return to the WVU Coliseum on Thursday to host rival Pitt. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
