WVU at No. 9 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After finishing nonconference play undefeated, the West Virginia University women's basketball team remains at No. 9 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 Poll, released on Monday.
The Mountaineers (12-0) also come in at No. 9 in the USA Today Sports Coaches Top 25 Poll released last week. The next USA Today Poll is slated for Tuesday.
WVU earned 508 points and is one of four Big 12 teams to appear in the rankings. No. 6 Baylor leads all Big 12 schools with 628 points and Texas sits just ahead of WVU at No. 8 with 589 points. Oklahoma State joined the rankings at No. 24 with 91 points, while Oklahoma (4) is noted as receiving votes.
The Mountaineers head to Texas later this week to embark on Big 12 play. The team travels to Fort Worth to start league play at TCU on Dec. 28 in a 7:30 p.m. ET tip. WVU will remain in the Lone Star State to face No. 8 Texas in Austin on Dec. 31. Tipoff is set for 4:30 p.m. ET.
