
Gratz, Thrasher Top Day's Finals

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Elizabeth Gratz and junior Ginny Thrasher of the No. 1-ranked West Virginia University rifle team finished first in the women's open and junior finals, respectively, on day two of the USA Shooting Winter Airgun (WAG) Championships at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Gratz, a native of Sigel, Illinois, shot 250.2 in the women's open final, while Thrasher, a native of Springfield, Virginia, shot 249.6 in the junior final. Thrasher also shot in the open final and finished fourth with a 207.3 mark.
Both student-athletes were awarded additional points for their open final scores, with Gratz receiving 4.0 points and Thrasher earning 2.5 points.
Gratz finished fourth overall with a two-day score of 835.2, shooting 415.5 in today's open relay. Thrasher shot 414.7 in today's relay and finished sixth overall with a score of 833.4.
Sophomore Milica Babic finished eighth overall with a two-day score of 831.7; she finished with a 416.7 mark in today's relay. Classmate Morgan Phillips shot 412.9 today and finished 10th overall with a two-day mark of 828.3. Freshman Sarah Osborn placed 16th overall with a score of 824.6, finishing today with a 414.5 total.
Osborn shot alongside Thrasher in today's junior division final and finished fourth overall with a 203.3. mark. Thrasher was the overall junior division winner with a two-day score of 830.9.
On the men's side, junior Will Anti shot in today's junior final and placed third with a 223.6 mark. He shot 617.8 in the open relay and finished 17th overall with a two-day score of 1229.1. Redshirt-freshman Noah Barker finished 26th overall with a two-day total of 1221.4, shooting 611.1 in today's relay
