
Mountaineers Continue to Rank No. 1

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team is ranked No. 1 in the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll for the third straight week.
This week's rankings are based on the teams' last score shot.
TCU ranks No. 2 this week and is followed by Murray State at No. 3 and Alaska-Fairbanks at No. 4. Kentucky drops to No. 5.
Ohio State ranks No. 6, Air Force ranks No. 7 and Nebraska ranks No. 8. Ole Miss and Memphis round out the top 10.
The Mountaineers (6-0, 4-0 GARC) had two matches this past weekend against then-No. 3 TCU and Army West Point at the WVU Rifle Range. WVU defeated the Horned Frogs, 4727-4717, on Saturday, Nov. 4. On Sunday, the Mountaineers earned their second straight win of the weekend, defeating the Black Knights 4733-4640. WVU shot a season-high smallbore score of 2348 against Army West Point.
WVU will travel this weekend to compete against two foes. The Mountaineers line up against Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) opponent No. 10 Memphis on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Memphis Rifle Facility. On Sunday, the Mountaineers will face No. 3 Murray State at the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range. Both matches will begin at 10 a.m. EST.
