MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team moved down one spot to No. 2 in this week's College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.
This week's rankings are based on a team's last score shot.
TCU edged the Mountaineers (3-0, 2-0 GARC) this week, having shot 4718 at The Citadel on Oct. 9. WVU shot 4716 in a win at Nebraska (4653) on Oct. 14.
Kentucky ranks No. 3 this week and is followed by Murray State at No. 4 and Alaska-Fairbanks at No. 5.
Ohio State ranks No. 6, Air Force ranks No. 7 and Jacksonville State ranks No. 8. Nevada and Akron round out the top 10.
The Mountaineers return to Morgantown and play host to Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) foe Ole Miss on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the WVU Rifle Range. The first relay will begin at 8 a.m., and competition will continue into the afternoon. Fans are encouraged to stop by the range throughout the day. The WVU Rifle Range is located in the Shell Building directly behind the WVU Coliseum, and admission is free.
