WVU Women’s Basketball No. 18 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s basketball team is ranked No. 18 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll released on Monday.
West Virginia (14-2, 2-2) fell 91-56 to No. 2 Baylor before bouncing back with an 83-73 win over No. 20 Oklahoma last week.
WVU earned 269 votes this week, falling one spot from its No. 17 ranking last week. Other Big 12 teams in the AP Top 25 include No. 2 Baylor (783), No. 16 Texas (346) No. 22 Oklahoma (139) and No. 25 Kansas State (46).
The Mountaineers are No. 16 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. A new poll will be released on Tuesday.
No. 18/16 West Virginia visits Texas Tech on Wednesday, Jan. 11, in a 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT matchup in Lubbock. The game will be televised on FOX College Sports Pacific. The Mountaineers return home to host No. 16 Texas in a 4 p.m. matchup on Saturday, Jan. 14. Saturday’s contest is Superhero Day. All tickets are $1 courtesy of United Bank.
