MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s basketball team dropped one spot to No. 23 in the
USA TODAY Sports Coaches Top 25 Poll released on Tuesday.
West Virginia (16-6, 4-6) went 1-1 last week after picking up an 89-79 win over Texas Tech and falling 69-54 at No. 12 Texas.
WVU earned 119 votes this week. Other Big 12 teams in the AP Top 25 include No. 2 Baylor (764), No. 13 Texas (418) and No. 22 Oklahoma (150). Oklahoma State is in the other’s receiving votes category with five.
The Mountaineers are No. 22 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll released on Monday.
The No. 22/23-ranked Mountaineers take a midweek break before resuming action against Iowa State on Saturday, Feb. 4, in a noon tipoff. Tickets for Saturday’s contest are $1 courtesy of United Bank.
