MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s basketball team is ranked No. 24 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll released on Monday.
West Virginia (14-4, 2-4) dropped a 75-66 decision at Texas Tech last Wednesday and a 73-63 contest to No. 12 Texas on Saturday.
WVU earned 78 votes this week, falling six spots to No. 24. Other Big 12 teams in the AP Top 25 include No. 2 Baylor (786), No. 12 Texas (422) No. 20 Oklahoma (202) and No. 22 Kansas State (25). Texas Tech is in the others receiving votes category with one vote.
The Mountaineers are No. 19 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. A new poll will be released on Tuesday.
No. 24 WVU opens a two-game road trip with a visit to Kansas on Wednesday, Jan. 18. The contest with the Jayhawks is slated for an 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT tip. The game will be televised on ESPN3 or the WatchESPN app. WVU then visits No. 2 Baylor on Saturday, Jan. 21, in a 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT tipoff.
