Four Women’s Hoops Games Featured on FOX

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The Big 12 Conference has announced its 2016-1 7 women’s basketball television schedule, which features four West Virginia University telecasts on the FOX Sports Networks, including three nationally televised games.
The Mountaineers’ showdown with reigning Big 12 Champion Baylor on Wednesday, Jan. 4, in Morgantown will be featured on FS2 at 7 p.m. ET. West Virginia’s following game on Sunday, Jan. 8, versus Oklahoma in the WVU Coliseum will air on FS1 at 4 p.m.
WVU’s contest at Baylor on Saturday, Jan. 21 will air on FOX Sports Net at 2 p.m. ET. West Virginia’s scheduled game at Texas has moved from Saturday, Jan. 28 to Sunday, Jan. 29 for television purposes. The game will air on FS1 at 4 p.m. ET.
Nineteen regular season games and all nine Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship matchups are included in the package. Twelve games will be televised nationally on either FS1 or FS2, 14 are scheduled on FOX Sports Regional Networks (FSN) and two will be on FOX College Sports (FCS).
The entire postseason championship will be televised for the fourth consecutive year, beginning with the two first round contests on FOX College Sports. Quarterfinal games will air on FOX Sports Regional Networks for the 16th consecutive year, while the semifinals and final will make their fourth national appearance on FS1. The final three games have appeared on FOX Sports networks every year since the inception of the conference in 1996-97.
Four non-conference games will be included in the package while all other appearances showcase Big 12 matchups. The schedule tips off on Dec. 3 when Mississippi State travels to Iowa State as part of the 2016 SEC/Big 12 Women’s Basketball Challenge. Other non-conference tilts include opponents that have won a combined 20 national championships with Texas A&M at TCU, Connecticut at Kansas State and Tennessee at Texas.
The conference schedule opens up on New Year’s Day and will conclude with two games on Feb. 27, the final day of the regular season.
