MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University track and field and cross country alum Sarah-Anne Brault finished 42nd in the women’s triathlon final on Saturday, while representing Team Canada at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Held in Fort Copacabana, Brault finished the women’s triathlon 42nd overall, crossing the finish line with a time of 2:04.28. The triathlon consisted of racing in a .93 mile (1.5km) swim, 24.8 mile (40km) bike ride and a 6.2 mile (10km) run.
Brault was joined by two other Canadian women triathletes, Kristen Sweetland and Amélie Kretz.
In 2013, Brault graduated WVU with a bachelor’s of business administration in economics and finance. She finished her collegiate career as a Mountaineer, where she earned Second Team All-America honors in the 10,000 meter, was named to the All-Big 12 and All-Big East teams, was a CoSIDA Academic All-American and was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team.
