Mountaineers Re-Enter AP Poll at No. 22

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s basketball team re-entered the Associated Press Top 25 poll tied with Colorado State at No. 22 with 96 points on Monday.
The Mountaineers (22-8, 11-6 Big 12) registered a pair of victories last week, which included an 83-72 win over TCU on Wednesday and an 82-48 victory over then-ranked No. 22 Oklahoma State on Saturday.
This is the fourth week that West Virginia has appeared in the poll. Monday’s ranking is the highest for WVU this season. The Mountaineers were ranked No. 25 on Jan. 18, No. 24 on Jan. 25 and No. 24 on Feb. 8. There are three other Big 12 programs represented in the Top 25: No. 4 Baylor, No. 6 Texas and No. 24 Oklahoma.
West Virginia concludes the regular season with a visit to Iowa State on Tuesday, March 1. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT in Ames, Iowa. The Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship begins on Friday, March 4 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
