Junior Robyn Bernard competed in all 12 meets as a two-event specialist as a sophomore on vault and uneven bars. She also received NACGC/W Scholastic All-America honors last year and finished fifth on the team with 261.4 points.

Scenery, sunsets and my teammates

What is the best advice you were ever given?
“It’ll pass, no matter what you’re going through in life, it’ll pass and you’ll get through it,” and “Let go and let God”
What is something most people might not know about you?
I cannot watch a scary movie to save my life. I got stuck in an elevator freshman year by myself and now I’m a little scared of being in one by myself.

Favorite WVU memory (so far)?
Freshman year we did a Halloween-themed team activity, and Sean (Merinar) made the funniest video out of it.
What is your favorite spot on campus?
Downtown on the benches in between White Hall and the library or the bean bags in the library
Favorite part of your day?
After I shower and relaxing before bed
What is something you’ve always wanted to do but never got the chance to?
Travel around the world
What one accomplishment are you most proud of?
Earning a scholarship to be a Mountaineer gymnast and surviving Hill’s Gymnastics (coming out alive)!
How would other teammates describe you in one word?
Just a Grandma! Crazy? Goofy? Calm? I don’t know!
What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who drag their feet, especially in flip-flops, and when people put the dollar sign after the value like 5$ instead of $5.
How would you like WVU gymnastics to remember you?
As a hard-working gymnast who was passionate about her schoolwork and her gymnastics.
What was the most defining moment of your gymnastics career thus far?
When I scored a career-high 9.875 on vault at Alabama
What food could you live off of for the rest of your life?
Shrimp or lasagna
What are three things you couldn’t live without?
Laptop (+wifi), some type of craft, music
Favorite place to travel to?
I would love to go to Brazil and Greece
Who is the person who knows you the best?
My mom, Dani and Zee (Zaakira Muhammad)
What is your dream job?
Being a doctor or PA and helping people around the world
What was it that made you decide to come to WVU?
The coaches, the team, and the amazing feeling you get when you walk on campus and it just feels like home.
