Eight women’s Division I college basketball teams will compete in the 18th annual Paradise Jam Nov. 23-25, 2017 at the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. The field will include Butler, Drexel, George Washington, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin. The women’s tournament features two four-team divisions in a three-game bracket competing for separate tournament championships.
“We are excited to return to the Paradise Jam,” coach Mike Carey said. “The tournament is operated in top-notch fashion and has great competition. We look forward to returning to the Virgin Islands.”
The appearance in 2017 will mark the third time the Mountaineers will compete in the Paradise Jam. WVU went 3-0 in 2010, winning the Island Division with victories over Iowa State, TCU and Virginia. The Mountaineers finished 2-1 in 2003, placing second in the St. John Division with wins over Georgia Tech and James Madison and a loss to Southwest Missouri State.
