Mountaineers Back at No. 1

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team ranks No. 1 in this week’s College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.
This week’s CRCA Poll rankings are based off the last aggregate score shot by each team.
The Mountaineers (4-0, 2-0 GARC) move up one spot after being ranked No. 2 last week.
WVU shot the highest scores in the nation in road wins over the weekend.
On Oct. 22, WVU shot a season-high aggregate score of 4724 against Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) opponent Akron at Akron. The Mountaineers, shooting an aggregate score of 4721, then defeated Ohio State on Oct. 23 in Columbus.
TCU drops one spot to No. 2 this week after shooting a 4720 aggregate score.
Air Force is ranked No. 3, while Murray State moves up one spot to No. 4. Alaska drops one spot to No. 5, and Kentucky and Ohio State remain at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively.
Nebraska is up one spot to No. 8, and Memphis moves up two spots to No. 9. NC State is down two spots and sits at No. 10.
WVU welcomes GARC opponent Memphis to Morgantown on Saturday, Nov. 5. The match is set to begin at 8 a.m inside the WVU Rifle Range.
