West Virginia Moves Up to No. 24 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s basketball team moved up one spot to No. 24 in the Associated Press poll released on Monday.
The Mountaineers (16-4, 5-2 Big 12) picked up a 97-84 victory at TCU on Sunday to move into third in the Big 12 standings. West Virginia’s 97 points were the most scored since joining the league in 2012-13.
West Virginia returned to the poll last week for the first time since December 2014. WVU garnered 108 points for No. 24 and were 15 tallies behind No. 23 DePaul. There were three other Big 12 programs represented in the Top 25: No. 4 Baylor, No. 6 Texas and No. 21 Oklahoma.
The Mountaineers and Sooners meet for the first time this season on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. Wednesday’s game is televised on FOX Sports Southwest Plus/FOX College Sports Central.
