MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The Big 12 Conference has announced its 2015-16 women’s basketball telecast schedule on FOX Sports networks. West Virginia University will appear on three network telecasts during the year.
The Mountaineers' first appearance will be on Saturday, January 30, when WVU hosts defending Big 12 Champion Baylor in Morgantown. The game airs on Fox Sports Net and is scheduled for 4 p.m.
WVU’s matchup at Texas Tech on Tuesday, February 2 airs on FOX Sports 2 at 7 p.m. ET. West Virginia’s scheduled game at Texas has moved from Saturday, February 20 for television purposes. The Mountaineers and Longhorns are now scheduled to play Sunday, February 21, in a 1 p.m. ET tilt on FOX Sports Net.
Nineteen regular season games and all nine Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship matchups are included in the package. Twelve games will be televised nationally on either FS1 or FS2, 14 are scheduled on FOX Sports Regional Networks (FSN) and two will be on FOX College Sports (FCS).
The entire postseason championship will be televised for the third consecutive year beginning with the two first round contests on FOX College Sports. Quarterfinal games will be aired by FOX Sports Regional Networks for the 15th consecutive year while the semifinals and final will make their third national appearance on FS1. The final three games have appeared on FOX Sports networks every year since the inception of the Conference in 1996-97.
Only three non-conference games will be included in the package as all other appearances will showcase Big 12 matchups. In the first non-conference tilt, TCU will host NCAA Championship runner-up Notre Dame in its newly-renovated Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena. The two-game Big 12/SEC Challenge will be featured nationally on FS1. Texas will face Arkansas while Oklahoma takes on Texas A&M at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City - site of the 2015-19 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship.
