Three Invited to Canadian National Camp

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Two current and one incoming member of the West Virginia University women’s soccer team will train at the Canada Women’s National Team EXCEL U17-19 Camp, from March 18-28, in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Freshmen Carla Portillo and Easther Mayi Kith, an early 2015 enrollee, as well as incoming freshman Bianca St. Georges, will attend the camp. The camp serves as one of the Canadian Soccer Association’s phases of development and identification for the 2016 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
Portillo, a midfielder and native of Mississauga, Ontario, played off the bench in 21 of 22 matches in 2014, tallying two assists, and was named to the All-Big 12 Newcomer Team. A member of the 2014 Pre-Regional Exceleration (REX) Program, she has previously attended several Canadian U-20 camps, including the U18-20 EXCEL Camp in Toronto in December.
Mayi Kith, a defender and native of Quebec City, Quebec, joined the Mountaineers in January. A member of the Canada U17 National team, she has made seven appearances with the squad and played the full 90 minutes in six, including time at the 2014 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica. Previously, Mayi Kith trained at the National Training Centre in Quebec and has been invited to multiple EXCEL camps.
St. Georges, a defender and native of St. Felix de Valois, Quebec, is a member of the Mountaineers’ 2015 class. A two-year member of the Canadian Women’s National U17 Team, she also played at the 2014 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica. She has started eight games for the U17 squad and also has attended multiple women’s EXCEL camps.
