MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team remains steady at No. 1 in this week’s College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.
Today’s rankings are based on the last aggregate score shot by each team.
Alaska-Fairbanks ranks No. 2, while TCU climbs one spot to No. 3 after defeating Air Force by a score of 4702-4677, on Oct. 31. Murray State drops three spots to No. 4, and Kentucky sits at No. 5.
Air Force remains at No. 6 for the second straight week, while Ohio State jumps one spot from last week’s poll to No. 7. Memphis, Nebraska and Jacksonville State complete the top 10.
Most recently, WVU tallied its fourth straight victory of the season with a 4713-4602 win over No. 16 Mississippi, on Nov. 1. West Virginia defeated Mississippi in both disciplines, outshooting the Rebels in air rifle, 2375-2332, and smallbore, 2338-2270.
The Mountaineers travel to Akron, Ohio, for a match against No. 4 Murray State, at the Akron Invitational, on Saturday, Nov. 7. The match is slated to begin at 8 a.m. ET.
