MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team is down two spots to No. 3 in this week’s College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.
Today’s rankings are based on the last aggregate score shot by each team.
Kentucky climbs four spots from last week’s poll to No. 1, while TCU jumps one spot to No. 2. Murray State remains at No. 4, while Alaska-Fairbanks falls two spots to No. 5.
Air Force and Ohio State remain at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively, for the second straight week. Nebraska, Army and N.C. State round out the top 10.
Last week, WVU tallied its fifth victory of the season with a 4697-4692 win over No. 4 Murray State at the University of Akron’s Championship Rehearsal Rifle Match, on Nov. 7. The Mountaineers defeated the Racers in both guns, narrowly winning smallbore, 2330-2328, and air rifle, 2367-2364.
The Mountaineers open their 2015-16 home season at the WVU Rifle Range against Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) foe No. 9 Army on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 8 a.m.
