WVU Remains No. 1 in the CRCA Top 20 Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team remains at No. 1 in this week’s College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.
Alaska-Fairbanks remains at No. 2 in this week’s poll, with Air Force, TCU and Murray State in third, fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Memphis moves up two spots this week to No. 6. Kentucky (No. 7), Nebraska (No. 8), Ohio State (No. 9) and Jacksonville State (No. 10) round out the top 10.
Including West Virginia, all nine Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) rifle programs are ranked in this week’s poll. Memphis is ranked at No. 6, followed by No. 7 Kentucky, No. 8 Nebraska, No. 11 Mississippi, No. 13 Army, No. 14 Navy, No. 15 Akron and No. 17 N.C. State
Most recently, WVU opened its 2015-16 season with two victories on the road. The Mountaineers defeated then-No. 9 Air Force, on Oct. 10, by a score of 4705-4680, followed by a 4714-4654 victory over then-No. 6 Nebraska, on Oct. 11.
WVU (2-0, 1-0) breaks from action for two weeks before another two-match road trip. The Mountaineers will shoot at No. 6 Memphis on Saturday, Oct. 31, before traveling to Oxford, Mississippi, for a match at Mississippi. Both matches are slated to begin at 8 a.m. ET.
