Eleven Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Eleven members of the West Virginia University men’s soccer team were named to the Academic-All MAC Team, the Mid-American Conference announced on Thursday.
“Once again, I am extremely proud of the student-athletes in our program for yet another academic achievement,” coach Marlon LeBlanc said. “Year after year our kids continue to represent West Virginia University with excellence on the field and in the classroom.”
In all, 47 student-athletes were honored with West Virginia having the most student-athletes honored among the six competing institutions.
Representing the Mountaineers are senior Andy Bevin, sophomore Ivo Cabral, sophomore Mike Desiderio, sophomore Christian Diaz, senior Paul Ehrenworth, sophomore Jack Elliott, senior Lee Johnston, junior Zak Leedom, sophomore Griffin Libhart, junior Jamie Merriam and sophomore Alex Ochoa.
To qualify for the Academic All-MAC team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests scheduled.
