Track Finishes Day 1 at Thundering Herd Invite

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team completed the first day of competition earlier tonight at the Thundering Herd Invitational in Huntington, West Virginia.
The Mountaineers only had participants in the pole vault on Friday night.
Katlyn Shelar led the way with a second-place finish in the event, vaulting 3.90 meters. Shelar has now finished in either first or second place in the pole vault in all five competitions this season.
Tori Bertrand tied a career-best mark of 3.75 meters, while finishing in fourth place overall. Sara Finfrock and Rebekah Lafata tied for 10th place with marks of 3.30 meters, respectively.
The Mountaineers are back in action tomorrow for day two of competition beginning at 9 a.m.
